Project Overview
Basic ICT for Improved Livelihoods (BICTIL) is a community-based initiative designed to equip youth and women with essential digital skills that enhance employability, entrepreneurship, and income generation.
The project is implemented in Kapandajuwa Area, Msiki, in Mzimba District, targeting youth and women who face limited access to digital resources and economic opportunities.
By strengthening digital literacy and practical ICT skills, BICTIL promotes financial inclusion, productivity, and sustainable livelihoods at household and community levels.

Basic Computer Skills
Training in computer use, file management, word processing, and internet navigation.
Mobile & Digital Technology
Practical use of smartphones, digital communication tools, and online platforms.
Digital Financial Services
Use of mobile money, digital banking platforms, and Village Savings & Loans (VSL) systems.
Online Marketing & Business
Access to market information, online promotion, and efficient management of small enterprises.
Learning Environment
Youth and women participating in the BICTIL Project access hands-on training at the SCALE-ACTION computer room, ensuring a practical, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Participants use basic ICT resources such as computers and tablets, enabling experiential learning and immediate application of digital skills to real-life livelihood activities.
